MISS FRANCES RUSSELL. AKA and see "Duke of York's Quickstep (The)." Scottish, March or Country Dance Tune (2/4 time). B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune is cognate but not identical with the march "Duke of York's Quickstep (The)." It may have been intended as the last movement of Montrose dancing master and musician biography:Archibald Duff's "Pas Seul (7)", a dance suite for one of his students, or it may have been a stand-alone tune, perhaps for another of his students.
