Dòrnach or Dornoch[1], Sutherland, is acoastal village in the Highlands that sits on the western coast overlooking the North Sea toward Norway. It lies on the north shore of the "Caolas Dhòrnaich" or bay where it opens to the east into Moray firth. "Miss Munro of Dornoch's Reel" is similar to, but not cognate with French's Miss J. Cumming's Reel."
