MITHER PIT ME TO THE WELL [1]. AKA and see "Ca' the Stirks," "Ca' the Stirks Frae Out the Corn," "Wat Ye Wha I Saw Yestreen." Shetlands, Reel. Shetland, Island of Whalsay. Cooke (1986) prints the following text to one version of this dance tune, collected in the Shetlands:

My mither pit me to the well
Rather she would ging hersel
The bottom o the pitcher fell
Whistle oer the lave o it.
