PAS SEUL [7]. Scottish, Dance Suite. The several "Pas Seuls" published by Montrose and Aberdeen dancing master and musician biography:Archibald Duff (c. 1770-1840?) seem to have been choreographed dance suites for his adolescent pupils, perhaps to showcase their (and his) talents in a performance. Each of his Pas Seuls (pas seul = 'solo dance') has a female name attached, in the case of "Pas Seul [7]" it is Miss Ann Mitchell, all from prominent Aberdeenshire families. The suites are made up of several melodies at different tempos and rhythms, but in the same musical key.
