PLANXTY SWEENEY. Irish, Planxty (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by blind Irish harper Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738). The subject has not been identified, according to Donal O'Sullivan (1958).

Source for notated version: “From M.S. Mrs. Close” [Stanford/Petrie]. Mrs. Close was a friend of artist and collector George Petrie (1790-1866) and was originally from County Galway.
