POLISH POLKA. English, Polka (2/4 time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. The tune appears in church bellringer and fiddler biography:Michael Turner's [1] (1796-1885) first manuscript, from c. 1845-1859. Turner was from Warnham southern England, and for fifty years Parish Clerk and Sexton, also leading the choir. His music manuscripts are filled with the popular dance music of the time: polkas, quadrilles, waltzes, airs, and various melodies for country dances.

"Polish Polka" is related to “Liberton Pipe Band,” Jimmy Shand’s “Fiona's Wedding” and, perhaps, “I Have a Bonnet Trimmed with Blue (1).”
