REEL DE LIMOILOU. AKA and see "Marche du siffleur," "Whistler (The)," "Reel St-Antoine (2)." French-Canadian, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. "Reel de Limoilou" is Montreal fiddler Joseph Allard's version of Alfred Montmarquette's "Marche du siffleur." The first strain is also similar to that of the old-time piece "Ebenezer." Compare also with the first strain of "Galope du repertoire de Gaston Nolet" which uses some of the same melodic material as the first strain of "Reel de Limoilou."
