VENETIAN AMBASSADOR. English, Country Dance (6/8 time). B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The melody appears in all four editions of John Young's Second Volume of the Dancing Master, printed from 1710 to 1728. Young was the heir to the Playford publishing concerns in London. The tune was also published by rivals Walsh and Hare in their The Second Book of the Compleat Country Dancing-Master (1719).
