WOODS OF OLD LIMERICK, THE (Coillte Shean Luimnhigh). AKA - "Ellen O'Leary's." Irish, Jig (6/8 time). F Major (O’Neill): G Major (Patrick Street): D Major/Mixolydian (Harker/Rafferty). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB (O’Neill): AA’BB (Harker/Rafferty): AA’BB’ (Patrick Street). The tune was in the repertoire of Sliabh Luachra accordion player Johnny O'Leary (1923-2004), who called it "Ellen O'Leary's" after his daughter, who liked the tune.

Source for notated version : - John Kelly [O’Neill], about whom O'Neill wrote: "a fiddler of phenomenal execution now living in San Francisco Cal." He was a native of Roscommon, Ireland; New Jersey flute player Mike Rafferty, born in Ballinakill, Co. Galway, in 1926 [Harker].
