Biography:Joseph Ascher

Joseph Ascher was born in 1829 in Groningen, the Netherlands. He studied piano in London and Leipzig, and in 1849 became court pianist for Empress Eugénie of France. He composed around 200 pieces for piano or voice. He died in London in 1869.
