BY MEN BELOV'D. English, Air (4/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. This air (which has 6 measures in the first strain and 11 in the second) appears in Muses Delight (1754) and Bickham's Musical Entertainer, vol. 2 (1740). The first line begins: "By men belov'd how soon we're mov'd." It was set by J. Stanley with words by A. Langford and published on songsheets around 1735.
