CROPPY BOY [1], THE. Irish, Air (6/4 or 3/4 time). G Major (Joyce): F Major (Stanford/Petrie). Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. This air has "been sent to me during the last seven or eight years by Mr. Patrick O'Leary of Graignamanagh, Co. Kilkenny, a good amateur musician with a great knowledge of the popular airs of that part of Ireland. Most of these he wrote down from his own memory" (Joyce). Petrie notes he obtained his version of the air from Joyce.
