I LO'E NAE A LADDIE BUT ANE. AKA - "I'll Love Ne'er a Laddie but Ane," Scottish, English; Air and Jig (6/8 time). England, Northumberland. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The title appears in Henry Robson's list of popular Northumbrian song and dance tunes ("The Northern Minstrel's Budget"), which he published c. 1800. The tune is similar to "My Lodging is on the Cold Cold Ground," although is thought to be antecedent to that air which may be Irish origin (although opinions on provenance vary).
