FIDDLER'S REEL. Old-Time, Fiddle Tune. USA; North Carolina. D Major. Standard tuning. AA'BB'. Known as a Surry County, North Carolina, regional tune (it was in the repertoire of Benton Flippen [1] {1920-2011}, for example), the title also appears in a list of traditional Ozark Mountain fiddle tunes compiled by musicologist/folklorist Vance Randolph, published in 1954.
