TRIP TO COVENTRY. AKA - “Peeping Tom.” English, Country Dance Tune (2/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody is unique to London publisher Charles and Samuel Thompson’s 1757 country dance collection. The alternate title, "Peeping Tom," comes from the legend of Peeping Tom, who spied Lady Godiva on her famous ride through the streets of Coventry.
