According to Claude Méthé's liner notes to Gagnon's 1997 recording, "Air à danser" was played by a fifteen-year-old Aimé for teenage music and dance parties, which were customarily held in the home at the time. Paul Fackler notes that the reel is also played on track 9 of Gagnon's 1997 recording as "Reel Louis Sainte-Hilaire."
