Annotation:Alex Beaton's Strathspey

Composed by Cape Breton fiddler and composer Dan Hughie MacEachern (1913-1996). MacEachern grew up in a musical family (two brothers also played the fiddle), and the home welcomed noted fiddlers such as Gordon MacQuarrie, Dan R. MacDonald, and "Big" Ronald MacLellan. Although he composed hundreds of tunes, Dan Hughie never recorded commercially, although home recordings exist.
