ALFORD WEAVER, THE. Scottish, Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by fiddle-composer and dancing master biography:J. Scott Skinner (1843-1927). It evidently is a immitative piece, meant to portray in sound the clacking of a loom, as indicated in the notation. One supposes that Skinner was able to play the note and make the clacking sound on the violin at the same time.
