ALLEMAND [8]. AKA - "Allamand." Scottish, Country Dance Tune (2/4 time). B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Allemand [8]" was printed in Montrose and Aberdeen dancing master and musician biography:Archibald Duff's volume Choice Selection (c. 1812, as simple "Allamand"), a volume filled with tunes for his choreographed dances for his young female pupils. This allemand tune is probably meant to be attached to the tune directly above it in his volume, "Miss Eliza Low's High Dance," so that the pair form a dance suite.
