BABOON'S SISTER, THE. American, Reel (cut time). E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The reel "Baboon's Sister" is a member of a large family of tunes, probably Irish in origin, whose titles are listed above. However the title "Baboon's Sister" would seem to be related to the song "Monkey's Wedding," whose first lines go:

The monkey married the baboon's sister,
Gave her a ring and then he kissed her.
