BANNERMAN'S RANT. Scottish, Strathspey (whole time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. "Bannerman's Rant" was composed by Aberdeenshire fiddler-composer wikipedia:James_Scott_Skinner (1843-1927) for his Miller o' Hirn Collection (1881). Skinner appended an address to the title ("5 Huntly Street, Aberdeen"), but no further information. The Aberdeenshire Post Office Directory for 1884-1885 lists a John Bannerman at that address, informing that he is a "commercial traveller" (i.e. a salesman).
