BEAR IN THE BUCKWHEAT. Canadian, Reel. Canada, Cape Breton. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABCCD. The first strain of the tune resembles that of "New Christmas or the Bass Reel" in MacDonald's Skye Collection. Buddy MacMaster is reported (by Dunlay & Greenberg) to have heard Gaelic words to the tune.
