BEAUTIFUL SCRABMAGG, THE. English, Country Dance Tune & Jig (6/8 time). D Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody and dance instructions were first printed in London by Henry Playford in his Dancing Master, 11th edition (1701, p. 250), and were retained in the long-running Dancing Master series through the final, 18th, edition of 1728, printed at that time by John Young, heir to the Playford publishing concerns. The tune is attributed by Playford to "G.B."
