BEN-A' CHIE. Scottish, Reel (cut time). E Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by Aberdeenshire fiddle-composer Alexander Walker (b. 1819), employed as a gardener at Castle Newe by Sir Charles Forbes until he emigrated to Massachusetts after the American Civil War.

Ben-a'chie is a steep mountain in Mar, about twenty miles north of Aberdeen.
