BLACK STRAP. Scottish, Reel (cut time). G Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The title predates the term 'black strap' referring to the third stage of refining molasses, yielding a dark, viscous syrup, known for its robust flavor. However, the term 'blackstrap molasses' is an Americanism dating from 1875 or before.
