BLACK SWAN. AKA and see "Comet (2) (The)," "Doctor Peter's," "Down the Glen," "Glengesh (The)," "Minnie Foster's Clog," "Mrs. Minnie Foster." Irish, Hornpipe. F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune was recorded several times under this title by Belfast fiddler Sean McGuire (b. 1928). It appears in Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883) as "Minnie Foster's Clog." The Black Swan was a not uncommon name for an inn in the British Isles.
