BONNETS SO BLUE [2]. English, Country Dance (3/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'CC'. The tune appears in Songs of the the Open Road: Didakei Ditties & Gypsy Dances (1911), a volume with tunes and words collected in Hampshire by Alice E. Gillington, with music adapted and arranged by Dowsett Sellars. The dance is a country dance for two couples with a swing-waltz step. The authors note that it is an "Old Hampshire" dance.
