BOYS OF CAPPOQUIN, THE (Buacailli Ceapac-Cuinn). AKA and see "Boy in the Gaf (The)," "Boys in the Gap (1)," "Farmer's Lass (The)." Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. A version of the tune appears in the large mid-19th century music manuscript collection of County Cork cleric and uilleann piper Canon biography:James Goodman under the title “Farmer's Lass (The).” Paul de Grae notes that the first strain is similar to "Charming Mary Kelly," which O'Neill printed in his Waifs and Strays of Gaelic Melody (1922). The tune is better-known nowadays under the "Boy/Boys in the Gap (1)" title, by which name it appears in the Boston--published Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883).
