BRANDY-SMASH REEL. American, Reel (2/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Brandy-Smash Reel" was composed by George H. Coes. The title refers toThe brandy smash is among the oldest mixed drinks. It is such a classic that it was created around the 1830s and saw its heyday during the Civil War, and consists of a mixture of mint, sugar, brandy, a little water (or, nowadays, club soda), ice, and garnished with an orange slice, maraschino cherry and mint sprig.
