BRIDGE OF TURK [2], THE. AKA - "Brig o' Turk (The)." Scottish, Reel (cut time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). The Bridge of Turk, Perthshire, is a small village between the northern shores of Lochs Venachar and Achray, where the bridge crosses the stream from Glen Finglas. It perhaps takes its name from the Gaelic word 'torc', meaning wild boar, and the area is said to have been a hunting ground of Scottish kings.
A different tune by this name was entered by David Young into his Drummond Castle Manuscript Part 2 (1734).
