"Butterfly Reel [2]" was published by the large music publishing company of wikipedia:White,_Smith_&_Company, Boston, in their White's Unique Collection (1896). However many of the plates used by White were purchased from the Elias Howe music publishing company of Boston, so the tune may be older that White's 1896 publication. More than forty years later Ira Ford printed the tune under the title "Tennessee Reel."
