CACKLING HEN AND ROOSTER TOO. American, Reel (cut time). USA, north Georgia. A Major ('A' part) & D Major ('B' part). The tune was recorded in Atlanta in December, 1930, by the North Georgia group The Skillet Lickers. On this cut the lineup was Clayton McMichen, Bert Layne and Lowe Stokes on fiddle, Ged Tanner on banjo and Riley Puckett on guitar. Norm Cohen says the tune is at best only distantly related to the "Cackling Hen" tune variants.
