CAILÍN DEAS DONN [3]. Irish, Jig (6/8 time). D Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Cailin deas donn [3]" is contained in volume 1 (p. 230) of the large mid-19th century music manuscript of County Cork cleric and uilleann piper [[wikipedia:James Goodman (musicologist)|]]. Compare the tune with "Old Man Rocking the Cradle (The)" and Smollet Holden's "[Nurses Tune (The)]]" and "Kilruddery Hunt"; while the tunes are not identical they cover the similar melodic and harmonic ground and are likely related.
