CAPTIVATING YOUTH, THE (Oganaighe Oig). Irish, Air. The air appears in Belfast collector Edward Bunting's (1773-1843) second collection, published in 1809. It is a variant of the air "Blossom of the Raspberry (The)", which Bunting first printed in his General Collection of the Ancient Music of Ireland (1796). In later handwritten notes to Bunting's 1806 edition of Ancient Music of Ireland it is mentioned that Bunting collected the tune from harper Charles Byrne [1] .
