CE POUFLAS. American, Canadian (?); Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Ce Pouflas" is from the repertory of southern Adirondack fiddler and ballad singer Lawrence Older (1912-1982), of Middle Grove, a hamlet in the town of Greenfield, Saratoga County, New York. Older had a repertoire of songs, ballads and fiddle tunes, many handed down by generations of his family, and others learned from local sources and music friends. He learned "Ce Pouflas" from another regional fiddler, Earl Eddy of Galway, Saratoga County, New York. Eddy's chief gift the fiddle repertory is "Earl Eddy's Breakdown/Favorite", but according to Adirondack fiddler Vic Kibler (b. 1919-2013), Older may have given the tune that name having learned it from Eddy himself. Kibler never met Eddy, but remarked: "They say he knew a world of tunes."

There is no formal translation of "Ce Pouflas" ('this pouflas'), and the title's meaning is unknown.
