CELEBRATED STRATHSPEY MINUET, THE. AKA and see "Mrs. Biggs (of Newcastle's) Delight." Scottish, Dance Tune. A strathspey-minuet was an 18th century creation in which a twosome danced to a strathspey. The tune appears in Watlen's collection of Celebrated Circus Tunes (1791), inscribed "The celebrated Strathspey Minuet as danced by Mr. Lassells and Mrs. Parker at the Royal Circus, London and Edinburgh."
