"Coke County" was in the repertory of guitarist and fiddler Lewis Thomasson, brother of Benny Thomasson and namesake of his father Lewis Thomasson (1874-1924), also a fiddler. Lewis Jr. played in the old-time Texas fiddle style that prevailed in the early 20th century, before the advent of Texas swing and contest stylings.
