The tune is credited to accordion player and composer Terry "Cuz" Teahan (1905–1989) in Deloughery's Sliabh Luachra on Parade (1980). Teahan was originally from Glountane, south County Kerry, though he spent many decades in Chicago working for the Illinois Central, and was a major figure in the Chicago Irish music scene.
