The tune appears in Feldman & O'Doherty's Northern Fiddler (1979, p. 109) as an untitled barndance collected from the playing of Donegal fiddler Simon Doherty. Dermot McLaughlin is a fiddler originally from Derry who immersed himself in Donegal culture and music in the early 1980's, and who has tirelessly promoted and preserved the fiddle tradition of the region.
