DEVIL AND HIS SISTER, THE. Irish, Double Jig. Ireland, County Donegal. Caoimhin Mac Aoidh (1994) relates the story of a Donegal fiddler named Mooney who was in demand for house parties and other events in the northwestern part of the county. Mooney was an affable fellow who "while revelling in fiddle-playing was not the victim of any social excesses." His wife, however, detested music and fiddle music in particular, as well as being a classical shrew who made Mooney's life miserable with her rants on his perceived shortcomings. Mooney
