DOWN IN TENNESSEE BLUES. Old-Time, Blues. USA. Banjo solo by Homer Davenport, who learned it from Bessy Smith. Davenport recorded the melody in 1925 in a recoding session in Richmond, Indiana, when he was recording with fiddler Jess Young (Young Brothers).
