The Leake County Revelers
DRY TOWN BLUES. American, Country Blues Tune (cut time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'AA"BB'CC'DD'. "Dry Town Blues" is from the playing of fiddler Wil Gilmer with the group The Leake County Revelers, from Sebastapol, Mississippi. "Dry Town" usually refers to a town where alcohol is prohibited. Mississippi not only was 'dry' during National Prohibition (1920-1933), but as late as 1966 the state was legally dry when it became the final state to repeal prohibition. It is even illegal to bring alcohol through a dry county in the state.
