DUCK SHOES RAG. American, Country Rag (cut time). USA, Southeast Missouri. F Major ('A' part) & B Flat Major ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'CC. Grinnell Giggers fiddler Ben Tinnon is credited with the composition on the Victor record label. The group consisted of Tinnon (fiddle), Grover Grant (guitar) and Melvin Paul (mandolin), who recorded the side in Memphis, Tenn., in November, 1930. The title perhaps refers to the 'duck boot,' a waterproof, shoe-like boot that has a rubber lower section and a leather or waterproof textile upper. It was created in 1911,

Source for notated version : - fiddler Ben Tinnon (1891-1975) with the Grinnell Giggers [Milliner & Koken, Phillips]. The Grinnell Giggers [1] were a band from the Missouri/Arkansas border region, whose sole recording session was in Nov., 1930, in Memphis.
