Resercher Conor Ward found this tune in the music manuscript collection of Alex Sutherland (1873-1967) of Toome, Carrigallen, Co. Leitrim. Dudley Gallagher was a 19th century piper from Lisnatulla, Balllinamore, Co. Leitrim. Ward identifies it as a cognate of the Scottish strathspey "Miss Sarah Drummond of Perth (1)"/"Miss Drummond of Perth (1)." See also the cognate "Miss Cunningham's Reel."
