The untitled "Reel (190)," from Patrick MacDonald's 1784 Collection of Highland Vocal Airs (No. 23, p. 36) is cognate in the first strain with the first strain of "East Wood Cottage." The seconds strains are similar to one another, but display a more divergent melody.
