ELEVATION, THE. Irish, Piece (4/4 time 'A' part, 3/4 time 'B' part). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Composed by blind Irish harper Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738). O'Sullivan suggests the tune was intended to be played after the Elevation of the Host at Mass. It is the only religious piece of O'Carolan's to have survived.
