EXPRESS, THE. English, Country Dance Tune (whole time). B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The title seems descriptive of the country dance directions printed with the tune in Straight's volume. In 1779, an 'express' would refer to a coach or stage coach that made limited stops on the way to a destination.
