Source for notated version: The air was given to the Irish collector Forde by Patrick MacDowell, "the distinguished sculptor;: born in Belfast 1799: died 1870. He gave a great number of airs to Dr. Patrie also, who has published may of them in his Ancient Music of Ireland (1873): and many are included in the Stanford-Petrie collection. He was an ardent collector of Irish music, and drew his stores from every part of the country" [Joyce].
