FLEERISH, THE. Scottish, Jig or Two-Step. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Composed by Bert Murray and named after a 'fleerish' (or flourish), the term used for a cigarette lighter by a saxophonist friend of the composer who "never got his 'fleerish' to work when they were travelling by car and would make appropriate comments to this effect" (Neil, 1991).
