FLOP EARED MULE [2]. AKA and see "Peach Tree Limb." American, Reel. D Major ('A' part) & A Major ('B') part. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. A version of "Flop Eared Mule (1)" that is a more developed reel or breakdown setting. However, it retains some of the melodic character--as well as the characteristic key change--of the original. The alternate title, "Peach Tree Limb" is from Missouri fiddlers Vee Latty, Pete McMahan and others. It is attributed (c.f. Charlie Walden) to Ed Tharp, a well-known fiddler from Columbia, Missouri.
